An all-enlisted crew pilots a Landing Craft Air Cushion (LCAC) to the shore of Pacific Missle Range Facility, Barking Sands, Kauai, Hawaii, during an amphibious assault with Marines from 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit, Camp Pendleton, California, as part of RIMPAC 96. The amphibious landing was conducted by 11th MEU and involved Navy and Marine air, ground and sea forces for training as a combined amphibious assault force

The US Navy (USN) experimenl High Speed Vehicle 2 (HSV 2) Swift refuels the Mine Countermeasures Ship USS AVENGER (MCM 1) off the coast of Hawaii (HI) during Exercise RIM OF THE PACIFIC (RIMPAC) 2004. The Swift is a wave-piercing aluminum-hulled camaran that can move at speeds greater than 45 knots. With a draft allowing it to navigate in only 12 feet of water it can easily maneuver in and out of littoral environments. RIMPAC is the largest international maritime exercise in the waters around the Hawaiian Islands. The US Navy (USN) Tarawa Class Amphibious Assault Ship USS TARAWA (LHA 1) underway in the Pacific Ocean. The TARAWA is taking part in Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) 2004. RIMPAC is the largest international maritime exercise in the waters around the Hawaiian Islands.
